What is the widest tire that can fit on a 98 Mark?

I have a 285/35R18 on a 9" rim with no rubbing.

Woops... Should have said stock rim and on the rear.

255/50/16 I believe.

Yep, 255/50/16. You might be able to get something wider on there with a bigger aspect ratio... but then you're pretty much looking at truck tires.

i got :

245/45/17 zr for the fronts

and 275/40/17 zr for the rears.

had it like that since i got the car,i have the original wheels n tires still! (just in case ya know ;)

i havent went fatter than that yet.

I just so happen to be looking at tires Would this affect the speedo? I want to go up a size and the local GoodYear shop wouldnt budge beyone the 225/60 for the stock rims.

I have 235 60 16s on my 94 and 93 and 245 50 16s on my 95.

all fit well and no problems
