The one-year agreement recently signed between GM and the NFL enables GM to promote Cadillac vehicles during the two high-profile events in a variety of ways. Elements include sponsorship of the games' MVP presentations, hospitality, exposure at NFL events, and advertising on NFL.com and SuperBowl.com where fans may vote for the game's MVP during the Super Bowl. Cadillac will also debut elements of its 2005 advertising campaign during the Super Bowl.
Similar to the previous three-years as the official vehicle, Cadillac will continue to present a brand new Cadillac of choice to each of the game's Most Valuable Player. The arrangement includes Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Fla., on February 6, 2005 and the Pro Bowl in Hawaii on February 13, 2005.
Cadillac will provide the NFL with a fleet of Cadillac SRX's, Escalades, and Escalade ESV's for use the week of the games. In addition, Cadillac will use various vehicles in displays at NFL functions including the NFL Experience, the NFL's interactive theme park and pre-game parties. Cadillac will also produce the third annual Cadillac Celebrity Grand Prix at the Super Bowl. The event is a celebrity go-kart race for charity. Past participants include: Jimmy Kimmel, Paris Hilton, Jamie Foxx, Terrell Owens, Donovan McNabb, Ashton Kutcher, Ice Cube, David Arquette, Leanne Tweeden and many more.
"The Super Bowl and Pro Bowl represent the pinnacle of sports and so it is fitting Cadillac continue its affiliation," said Peter Murray, vice president of partnership marketing and corporate sales. "We are looking forward to working with Cadillac again this post-season as we celebrate America's favorite events and top players."
"The Super Bowl is the greatest event in the world, it is watched by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, and we have leveraged our relationship with the NFL over the past three years to make over two billion impressions," said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. "Similar to the MVP award winner, Cadillac is known for combining power and performance with over 100 years of heritage and tradition, which personifies the celebration of American success."
The Super Bowl is annually the most-watched TV program of the year with more than 130 million viewers in the U.S. and a potential 1 billion worldwide audience expected to tune into Super Bowl XXXIX. The Pro Bowl is the annual NFL All-Star Game matching the American Conference All-Stars against the National Conference All-Stars. As the premier luxury division of General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM), Cadillac produces bold, standout vehicles such as the all-new STS performance sedan, the XLR convertible roadster, the SRX midsize utility, and the CTS entry-level sedan. In addition to selling the popular DeVille nameplate, Cadillac also manufactures the world's most powerful line-up of SUVs, the Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT.
