DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp (GM.N) said on Friday it is recalling 275,936 Cadillacs, Pontiacs and Saturms sold in the United States because of a fluid leak that could lead to loss of control of the vehicle.

The recall involves vehicles 2005-2007 model year Cadillac CTS, CTS-V and STS, STS-V sedans, 2005-2007 model year Cadillac SRX crossovers, and 2006-2007 model year Pontiac Solstice and the 2007 Saturn Sky.

GM spokeswoman Carolyn Markey said the seal on the rear axle pinion, which provides power to the rear wheels, could leak fluid, causing the wheels to seize and lock.

Markey said one crash was reported related to the problems.

I like how Lincoln only recalls one model year when numerous years of the same car have that problem albiet minor, then Cadillac recalls numerous years and models with a more serious problem. Idk whats the lesser of two evils on that one?

I don't know that the extended warranty on the 2003 LS coils/valve cover gaskets is actually a recall. But I agree, there's known problems with the 00-02 LS models and they've done nothing about it.

they even put in the owners manual, that the flashing of the check engine light means its determining air/fuel ratios and that it is most likely experiencing a misfire.

fyi, recalls are only established when if the problem puts the driver in danger.

doing 80+ mph in heavy traffic and the car drops 3 cylinders sounds like a pretty serious safety issue.

Isn't 80+ mph in heavy traffic a safety issue?!!?!

definitely. but in florida, everyone does 80 mph on interstate 95. and its rare for there not to be traffic on the road.
