If anybody is going through the F'n nonesense I just experienced... (Looking for replacement parts for the OEM Rear Shocks on the Mark VIII) Look HERE!
http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_Lincoln_Mark_VIII_8_pid90_yid7.html
They give you the shocks and the "ever so important" mounting kit.
Too many places will tell you "Dealer Replacement Only"... Well, I called the
Lincoln/Merc/Ford dealer. They are ~$150/Shock... Plus the cost of the mounting kit (New Bushings Bolts)... Plus installation.
Don't know how quality the shocks are but thats not some brilliant technology to master....... Just throwing it out there, because I've gone through some nonesense. All in an attempt to aviod the "Bend over and smile" factor at the dealership......
Peace,
JC

I just bought rear bushings for the shocks for $23/pr. It usually not the shocks that go but the bushings start knocking around. Check with Max. He has 'em. I might be just as worthwhile to buy the whole new shock. Never occured to me. Duh.

Arnott is an advertiser - and I always suggest you try an lvc advertiser first, since they are helping support LVC

I called Max fellas...
Because of LVC, he quoted me a better price than my local dealer for the parts, but for shocks, and mounts it was expensive, plush shipping too...
I just bought Monroe Sensa-Trac's ('97 T-Bird-Part #5965) from Napa, $60 for the set and new set of mounts from my Local Lincoln dealer... $79 for the set of mounts.
Just posted because this entire kit with shocks, mounts and new hardware is $129...
We got luxury cars, and the dealers justifiably charge luxury prices... Unfortunately, I can't always afford the luxury.

Hi All
Jamler3 did ask for the O/E shock for the O/E ride and I asked about the cobra and didnt give me a chance to quote them for you. You can almost buy 2 for the price of one..but suffer in the ride area, as you will with the bird or cobra shocks.
the cobra rears are $97.20 retail and the LVC cost is $67.07 each and you will need the top nuts to go with them another $2.86 for both. The mounts are the same $26.29 each w/o the bolts or $32.60 with.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Thank You

again..... all that needed to fix the shock mount is to cut out the old rubber and the crappy bushings then use the rubber that comes with the new t-bird shocks!
Polyurethane bushings would work even better.
when I do my '93 I'll take pics!
my 94 has been like that since april and its nice and quite
by the way what year cobra shocks fit?
