So i did the search and found that people were having issues with the elbow off the PCV valve. So i bought the elbow. From what i understand you need to take the intake manifold off to get to the elbow. In the tech articles i found the one for removing the intake manifold. in those instructions it says to drain the coolant. Is this step neccessary to replace the elbow or am i just making this job way to hard on myself. If you have had to do this reapir any input would be greatly appreciated. Also if im wrong or missing something let me know.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, you have to. If you don't, you run the risk of coolant getting into your motor wiping out bearings.

I would assume so.

Here's a thread I put up here with some info regarding the PCV change. Have a look:

the intake manifold gasket - is really just special rubber o-rings around each port - and are reusable (if not damaged).

here is a link on LvC where eLeS deals with the same issue -> http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=6311
