2000 LS Sport with 112K. check engine light went on, showed right side cat's no good. car runs lean and gas mileage is more crappy than usual. instead of spending 450 on the part plus install, i figured i could spend a little more and get a real exhaust. i don't know what my options are. i was told to get an off road h-pipe, but would that allow me to pass inspection (or would it throw the codes all the time)? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

ok, well I dont know what SMOG is like in NY. But here in Cali, we get jacked. Your options are these; If they dont do a visual inspection your good. Just buy a magnaflow cat for 100 bucks and get it installed. You will pass with flying colors. If you do have visual then your gonna just have to bight the bullet.

- An offroad pipe means no cats. Which = you not passing emission testing...
