Ok, I know there's the Borla and Magnaflow Cat-Back setups, but what about headers???

I figure the engine has to be common enough, so why can't I find any?? Anyone know of any R&D going into headers for the LS8??

no headers. I even took mine to a couple of local shops - and after looking at it - they said waste of money. The space to work in is very small, and the current manifold/headers are very very short - so if you are looking for a bolt-on replacement - it ain't gonna give you much more power and cost a lot.

Now if your gonna pull out the cats, and re-design the entire thing.... maybe...

Nope, not going that far. I guess its' just a cat-back for it then. Thanks for the info!!

you may want to look at what your local muffler shop can do for you.

I put on new piping, magnaflow x-pipe, flowmaster 40s and magnaflow quad double-rolled tips for $600.

I'll look into that. We've got a VERY good shop near me that specializes in Fords and Lincolns that I might talk to.

Thing that gets me is that for the exhaust to look right I'm going to want (HAVE) to get at least the LSE rear bumper cover with the cutouts.

right - I put on the Wings West which gave me enough of a rear valance to have cutouts around the new tips.

So did you cut out the wings west valence or was it pre formed for the exhaust tips?

I used a dremel - it only had cutouts for the stock single tips.

Any body for a spare exhaust manifold i could experiment with? I have made jigs for various other header set ups. I've also made a few sets.
