Briton arrested in Sudan over teddy named Mohammed

A British teacher has been arrested in Sudan for allowing her seven-year-old students to name a teddy bear Mohammed, the British Embassy said.

Gillian Gibbons was detained yesterday on suspicion of insulting the Prophet Mohammed.

Colleagues of the 54-year-old teacher from Liverpool told Reuters they feared for her safety after receiving reports that young men were gathering outside the Khartoum police station where she was being held.

Last I read up, she faces jail time and "40 lashes" for her "crime"... WTF is wrong with these bastards? Any excuse to rabble-rabble. Could Britain legally do anything to stop it?

And now the people of Sudan are calling for her execution! Its a disgrace. I hope Britain is going to take a tough stance on this issue. :mad:

Here's a good example of why it's important to fight radical Islam. The fact that the Sudanese government didn't even speak out against the calls for Gibbon's execution very clearly shows that the Sudanese government is complicit in fomenting radical Islam.

Why don't we see thousands of Muslims in the streets throughout the world (let's start with Sudan) protesting the "hijacking" of their so-called "religion of peace" by radicals and speaking out against Muslim hatred and intolerance?
