I need an experienced Mark VII guru to give me a call at
813-417-8264 if you have ever replaced the fuel pump in
the gas tank. I am about to blow up my car, house, driveway,
the whole 9 yards and need some verbal assistance. Thanks
fellas!

OK, got the fuel tank off the car without blowing up Tampa. Still need
a call if possible. If its a money issue, send me your number and I will
call you.

Replaced the fuel pump, put the gas tank back on, and lo; the car started.
After screaming and doing handstands and handsprings, I decided to go for
a short cruise. NOW, the car is sputtering and backfiring on me. Idles fine
and will move forward happily in drive without the gas pedal being pushed, but
the minute I step on the gas, the RPMs go up and the car barely moves.
For the Mark VII gurus that are out there reading this; any ideas? Bad gas? Air in the vacuum line(s)? CPU needs to reorient itself? HELP!!!!!
Oh yeah, no one called in case anyone was wondering...

YES!!!!!! Went to WallyWorld and bought a pint of Fuel System Cleaner.
Then put in 16 gallons of gas (50 plus dollars; what a joke!). Then went on
I-75 and OPENED HER UP @105 mph. The car was SCREAMING down the road
and ran like a champ. All is well that ends well. Since you guys/gals now have
my phone number, give me a ring if you ever have a fuel pump issue and I will
try to help. Here is a shot of the rear which is what folks should be seeing
now that I am back on the street.

Ok ... so I'm ~still~ slow.
I'm ~still~ glad you got your ride back on the street :)
The only issue that you might face (that I know of) is the location of the new fuel sock. It may or may not suck air when the tank is only half empty.
Think hard; was the new sock and exact match to the old one?
p.s. I called and some Dude asked for my credit card number. <g>

Yeah, it was exact. Double check the number you called. I hope
you were just jokin' bout the CC info. I will know for sure bout the
sock when I start running the tank low. Will run it to bout a quarter tank
to see what happens. Thanks for the feedback!
