I'm going to change out my valve cover gaskets this weekend and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions how I should clean up the oil that's on the boots and plugs... someone said brake cleaner but that sounds kinda harsh... if you have better ideas it would be appreciated thanks :)

Brake Kleen rocks. I even use it to clean my hands after working on a car. Kinda irritates the cuts, but whatever. You could also use carb cleaner and a rag.

Thanks... I just wanted to make sure I didn't put something on there that would damage the rubber boot... didn't know if it would eat the rubber up or not... thanks!!!

brake clean is fine but oil tends to saturate the boots. even if you clean them off its still there.
