What the heck is this wire for?The Rev October 28th, 2007, 11:17 PM I'm trying to find out why my horn doesn't work and found this wire unplugged below the battery, I reconnected it from under the car but nothing has changed, wth is that wire for? unity October 29th, 2007, 01:51 AM ABS sensor? Try again and see if traction control is out. chickenviii October 29th, 2007, 04:09 PM thats not abs, look to the left thats the abs, looks like the connector for the air comp but it looks to only have 2 wires, so not sure slowmkviii October 29th, 2007, 05:59 PM have you tried to folow the side you can't see The Rev October 30th, 2007, 01:08 AM well if it helps my abs light is always on and plugging that in hasnt made a difference, i'll follow it tomorrow, its right below the battery, the bottom half of the plug (the male end) was actually on the inside of the fender, i'll follow it in the am to see where it goes, i thought it might've been my horn, since that doesnt work, or my cruise control Right on the Mark October 30th, 2007, 11:52 AM What year car? Right on the Mark October 30th, 2007, 11:52 AM PS if your horn and cruz don't work its most likely the "clock spring" Ricksquickviii October 30th, 2007, 07:25 PM wow thats rusty under that car/ mind is a 93 and very very clean! The Rev October 30th, 2007, 08:07 PM its a 93, it sat for 2 years in a backyard before i bought it so rust is a problem, i still cant notice what its for and yeah i've heard of the clock spring before Roadboss October 31st, 2007, 01:39 AM Is that on drivers side or passenger side, the reason I ask again is that sure looks like the plug in connector for your air compressor as it has the broken off locs, and frame mount connector. JMiles_T October 31st, 2007, 12:08 PM He said it's beneath the battery so it's gotta be the driver's side. I agree that it's probably part of the ABS system. unity October 31st, 2007, 06:14 PM Ya, I still say its the ABS sensor harness for the driver's side. Its right about where its suppose to be. The Rev October 31st, 2007, 11:28 PM im still not sure if i even have it plugged in tight enough, theres like 1 mm left before it "clicks" in, i assume i've plugged it far enough but maybe not? would there be one on the passengers side too? I'm off tomorrow and plan on trying to work that air silencer out so i'll check it out, thanks chickenviii October 31st, 2007, 11:35 PM the pass side conn is for the air compressor and looks just like that papa bear November 1st, 2007, 06:42 AM stupid guess here out side temp sensor yes i am a little slow mespock November 1st, 2007, 07:59 AM the pass side conn is for the air compressor and looks just like that When I first looked at it, it looked like the air compressor connection, but that would be on the driver's side and infront of the compressor,at least on the ones I've taken off. The ABS sensor is just below the battery on the passenger's side and there is one on the driver's side also. Just took those off last weekend... chickenviii November 1st, 2007, 09:57 PM When I first looked at it, it looked like the air compressor connection, but that would be on the driver's side and infront of the compressor,at least on the ones I've taken off. The ABS sensor is just below the battery on the passenger's side and there is one on the driver's side also. Just took those off last weekend... rich isnt your battery on the driverside.........................:D (dont ban me lolol) but yes his connector is on the driverside, im thinking something for the abs maybe the power feed for the relay or something just prob has other abs probs (why the light stayed on) i was saying it looks like the comp conn The Rev November 2nd, 2007, 12:52 AM didnt see one in the same place on the passengers side while taking the air silencer out, man was that a b!tch but now its over with, it doesnt affect driving or make the abs light turn on, so i'll leave it as is oh well papa bear November 2nd, 2007, 06:12 AM does chiltons repair book show it listed and another stupid guess here, factory alarm anti theft plug The Rev November 4th, 2007, 07:57 PM the only thing i saw in the chiltons was the abs sensor plug in that area, partly because they zoom in real close, either way plugging it in didnt change anything and i dont have antilocks, which doesnt bother me (yet) haha chickenviii November 5th, 2007, 09:33 PM nope the abs sensor plug is to the right of mystery connector your pic (look just over the rusty trans lines) | ||||
