I need two of the transponder key blanks (1 for a remote starter and 1 because I occasionally forget where I leave my keys) I'm down to my last resort of having to buy 10 from the factory for about $220.00.

Hi Guys, I have found 3 in this area but I will order a box, p/n 164-R0467 if All here want what you say....2 for OLD....2 for Joey....and 1 for Monster I will stock the rest. Retail is $43.10 each and your LVC cost will be $36.89 each.
Let me know because it takes about 10 days to order and rec them from ford.

That sounds excellent for me. I will call my local dealership and try to cancel the order. Turns out the cost he originally quoted me was just a normal PATS key and did not have the roaming codes. The correct key was going to cost me $59.95 each, I was sweating that one out as I wouldn't come back to you guys with a different price, it just wouldn't be the right thing to do.
Max, there is a backorder from the factory and they will let you order less than the minimum of 10. My dealer was able to place my order for five keys this afternoon. Seems there has been a recent surge in the market for them.
Let me know how you would like payment for two keys.

are you asking about keys or key FOBS, the little transmitter on the key chain?? Call me in the am....I think you have a new style key with buttons and would need to figure which one you need. The 98 mark did not have a remote start let alone the key with buttons.

Is it the Strattec key or the OE Ford (lincoln logo) key we are talking about?

I would much prefer the Lincoln logo key over the key that says Strattec.

I Just faxed your pic to ford (key division) to get a number and cost. Will let you know what I find. That pic was perfect.

Ok....Ford does not show that round key for the primary key available anymore. Strattec only has the squarish key which is the same...I think ..as the one I ordered through Ford yesterday. Now I did notice that the gray VALET key is round as to its roaming abilities??????? The keys I have coming in from ford will have the linkoln star on them but I am 95% sure they are the square ones. I called our Strattec rep and they said not available. I tried to use the part number you gave me and it made no sense to anyone I talked to..even Google!!
So until they arrive I am at a loss. But I Will Return!!!

I think your dealer ordered the 164-R0467 which is sold as a 5pack from ford/rotunda...but not at the 59.95 price!!

I called the dealer and the part number was for a Howard Keys cross. It is a direct cross to the part number you supplied. I have asked them to cancel the order but they may have already shipped the one that is in stock. I should have more info shortly.

Well the keys arrived. They are the standard mark pats keys....square...sorry. I guess I struck out.

Mine are round - How can we not get keys? Wierd.

My local dealer called to let me know the one key I ordered was in from Howard Keys, sounds like it is square also with the Lincoln Star molded in, I will know more after work tomorrow. I am dropping my car off to have it programmed.

nothing, the round is just cool-er :cool: i have 1 round and 1 square

If there is no difference, then I dont care round or square..

the keys are the "straetek" style only with the lincoln star embossed. As to roaming abilities I just do not know. The "pats" tech said he was not aware of that ability in anything other than the "homelink system" Anyway I now have 5 mark 8 keys for sale and a couple of mark 8 valet keys as well (the valet are round, like the pic, and gray with the lincoln star).

I picked up my key from the dealer and it works (tried it multiple times to make sure there wasn't any roaming issues). The Round key is my original and the square is the copy.
Max, I would like to purchase a square key from you.

Hey Chicken another good thing about Gen I's... LOL... None of those hi-tech keys...

The key is a plus over the Gen1 because it makes the car harder to steal!

Harder to steal here in Boscobel? This is Truck Country nobody who would steal a car lives in this area.

Plus I'd get more money for the car if someone would steal it than I would if I tried to sell it. LOL...
