fossten October 7th, 2007, 10:34 PM Stay away from these guys.
I don't know why I went back there after I (successfully) sued them years ago for destroying an engine on a Chevy Lumina, but I did. Got my oil changed a week ago.
They topped off the tranny fluid even though it didn't need it. Yesterday the tranny started jerking in high gear. My friend drained some of it for me. It was a QUART AND A HALF OVER FULL. Tranny seems ok now, but I'm sure some damage was done.

I applied there and got rejected.....
ass holes
PimpMyTint October 8th, 2007, 11:42 AM Wow... thats bad business! It's a miracle places like that even stay in Biz! Where's the BBB on this one? They must not train their employees! Sorry to hear fossten!
fossten October 8th, 2007, 01:33 PM Regarding the off chance that my tranny will go out in the next year, I read on another thread a suggestion that a 2000 Mustang GT tranny could be used. Is this true for Gen 1 or is it only for Gen 2?
Roadboss October 8th, 2007, 05:59 PM Wonder what fluid they put in it. I would demand that they drain and put in Mercon V, as they should have, if it was low

true for both gens, but some part changing is required

Is this something a typical tranny shop will be able to handle without reaming me for extra labor? Or should I use a different tranny, and if so, which one?
evillally October 9th, 2007, 11:28 PM What do you expect from a company that employs high school ricer kids? Did you expect master mechanics, or something?
It's not that hard of an oil change; do it your fvcking self, man. If it's that difficult, install an oil filter reallocator kit...

yeah, they can handle it,but its more of a question of are they willing to learn it?
here is basically what needs to be done.

evil, are you confusing oil change with tranny replacement? I'm asking advice about getting the tranny replaced, not about getting my oil changed. Yeah, I could do the change myself, but I don't want to. There's not one single thing I've ever worked on in this car that has ever been easy.

I was referring to the oil change; but now that you mention it, the tranny oil isn't that bad, either.
And if you're going to replace the tranny- 2003 Mustang GT tranny is the way to go. Re-pin the harness and enjoy a more durable drivetrain...
kustomizingkid October 10th, 2007, 09:48 PM With where the Mark oil filter is i would bet hat they didn't change it.
papa bear October 11th, 2007, 05:27 AM find a local shop not a dealer or a chain store first off ask the guy what fluid the car uses if he says mercon v he on the right page ask him the price to drop the pan new filter fluid etc.. call three shops and compare prices when you have the job done ask him if there was a plastic piece in the bottom of the trans pan and you will know if it was the first time it was serviced and then drive it until the trans goes there might be another 50,000 left have him add some lucas trans lube or royal purple additive
fossten October 11th, 2007, 07:20 AM I had the fluid replaced with Mercon and additive two years ago. What's happening now is the transmission is jerking a little in high gear thanks to being overfilled by VIOC. My friend tells me I probably have about 20,000 miles left on the tranny before I need to replace it.
papa bear October 11th, 2007, 08:14 AM maybe a miss/ plug wire poped off and is sitting on the terminal or plug jumping spark /vac leak/
