So I was toying around with my car today on the highway and mashed the throttle, and seemed to be pulling fairly well through first and into second, but when it shifted up to 3rd at about 4k I noticed taht the car was not pulling at all anymore and the rpms were actually slowly coming back down...

Needless to say that freaked me out and I stayed out of it for the rest of the drive.

But what could this possibly be, my guess is fuel injectors one of mine recently went out and i didnt have the money to replace all of them anyone have any help?

car is a 4.6 2v v8

thanks guys

What car are we talking about here?

Is there a chance you just hit the speed limiter?

So this would be a 4.6 4V not a 2V...

Mine does it at lower speeds. I think it may be what you are talking about. I think mine is the torque converter, because it has always sucked. Shudders, locks/unlocks at will, and does what you are talking about...I think. Does yours ever do this: you're driving along slowly accelerating, and when you shift to 3rd, it drops down about to where it should, then continues to slowly drop to about 1k and bogs down. Mine does this often.
