Max, how much is the Throttle Position Sensor for the 97 Continental, I believe it has 2 one on top and the other on the bottom. Also are these in stock and how soon could I have them?

Hi
Thank you for the request. I only see one "throttle position sensor" in my catalog. P/N is F4SZ-9B989-AA list is $63.24 and LVC cost is $37.00. I have one on the shelf but can get as many as 10 for shipping today. Are you sure about the qty of 2?? My tps is shown to be at the throttle body.

I was informed my continental has 2 different Throttle Position Sensors one located at the top of the engine and the other located at the bottom of the engine. From my understanding these cars are only suppost to have 1? so that threw me off but I think the other one I need is part number F4SF-9B989AA.
Btw I heard that cars usually only have 1 TPS sensor and that only police interceptors had 2 and some cobras is that true? if so then it's a real mystery as to why I have 2

I will check again when I get back in the office on tuesday. I just acessed the on line ford service manual and it shows only one TPS...on the throttle body....however there is an IMRC...Intake Manifold Runner Control. Could this be what you are referring to??

I don't believe so, the gentlemen working on my transmission said they saw two tps sensors on the engine and that I should think about replacing them so that's about all I know sorry :(

well....I talked with the emission techs here and they NEVER heard of 2 TPS on a car. That trans guy must have been talking about something else and mistakingly said TPS. The only other thing that might need changing after a long time might be O2 sensors. There are 2 uppers and 2 lowers, but that number you gave me was a TPS the one I quoted for you...a TPS. Maybe find an emisson tech to explain what you need.

Not a problem. I have access to the file on the computer for future orders. Frt for that tps would be about 6-7 dollars ups ground. Your best bet is to send me an email or call me at :

I do not always get to LVC at the time it is needed, and miss the shipping cutoff.
Thank you

Ok I am EATING CROW
someone overheard someone else goofing about that 2 tps question and said They are correct on that model if it has traction control. I am sorry for not asking our award winning emission/electrical guy first. (he has won several awards through ford nationally). The second part , The traction control tps is a F5oY-9F953-A it used to be $343.04 list. it is no longer available anywhere...but it does exist!!
