Neither are my pics. Jeff asked for pics - I obliged. :N
The first is from another site, one of the first homemade M8 CAI attempts I seen. The second is what I have now. Do a web search for DenseCharger - their site is no longer up? Apparently a somewhat common Mustang CAI. To use it on a Mark VIII it is more akin to a T-Bird setup with the filter and cover plate vertical in the fenderwell as opposed to the more common horizontal setup like in my 5.0 Mark VII.
I don't have any pics yet of what I have now. But it consists of a Pro-M MAF and adaptor to get to 4" diameter. Then a machined 4" PVC 90 degree elbow. Followed by a 4" extension which goes thru a cover plate and connects to a 4" K&N cone filter. There is no 2nd elbow inside the fender as the Mustang/Cobra setup. BTW, the Pro-M is flow matched to the piping and injectors.
I had LMS's IceBox setup for quite a while and demonstrated a solid 15 degree temperature difference in the air temps using the IceBox.
My latest idea is to incorporate the IceBox or similar shield as an enclosure around the DenseCharger piping, fab a lid of sorts and fill the enclosure with dry ice for Really Cold Air Intake. LOL!
And yes, the compressor is in there. It needs to be lowered 2" to make room for the Filter. The compressor has no other affect since I switch the suspension off with the car at parked height at the track.
And no, I couldn't tell any seat of the pants difference between the IceBox setup and the DenseCharger CAI. Results at the track were inconclusive as far as I could tell. My big improvements at the track(besides practice) were the results of a shift kit and drag radials.

hey driller i like your way of thinking, do you want to sell your LMS stuff, let me know, I want a ice box, geno has been out of stock , on that, right now mine is in the hole on top of the comp.with the maf connected to it and flex tube fitted to that , then connected to inlet tube .it works but crude and not very pretty, my new idea is with pvc ppe, a straight piece, im gonna paint it, and using the icebox as a sheild modify it to fit the stock maf, and move the filter back upstairs, for a diff look. let me know if you want tp sell, or geno, let me know if you got em back in stock. thanks
