Had air recharged at jiffy lube and worked fine for a couple of weeks-then it seemed to get warmer and warmer-took it back and they said it still had 2 pounds in it -so they sucked it out and refilled and wont get colder then 70.The compressor kicks on and then off and back on-stays engageds for 2 seconds then off 2 seconds.Any ideas

Take it to someone more knowledgeable than Jiffy Lube. You probably have a restriction or something that is creating too high of a pressure, so the compressor is turning off to prevent damage.

They should have read the pressures at least to see what it was running. If it's not leaking but it's still running warm there's a problem somehwere. Could be a restriction in the lines, I'm not sure. Like I said, the guys at Jiffy Lube probably arent the best AC techs out there.

From past experience, I had a Kenworth that drove me nuts. Was in 4 different shops across the US. Would run ok for about an hour and then got warmer and warmer. At about $450 a crack it gets old real quick. Finally after many threats, then cajoling etc, I sat in the shop for about an hour running the air until the malf showed up. Finally determiined that each time the compressor was changed they added 8 oz of compressor oil so the system worked fine til the oil hit the expansion valve. They drained a 32 oz cup of oil out from the lowest point in the system. Worked fine after that.
