Help? Brake-Shift Interlock - won't let me out of park

Have a problem, took the air silencer out of the car tonight, and while I was at it removed some of the hoses/wiring for the air suspension.

Fired up the car to take it for a spin to hear the 'new' sound, and the car won't let me shift out of park.

I know that the wiring harness I removed was only for the air suspension, and NONE of the connectors were plugged into anything (car has coils now).

Any ideas how to get this to work?

Can I disable the brake-shift-interlock easily? Maybe open up the console/shifter area and 'break' the lock mechanism of the shifter to let me stick in into Drive?

try putting turning the key to accessory and putting the shifter into neutral, then starting it. do your brake lights work?

No! The brake lights weren't working - neither were the interior lights.

Did a look through the owner's manual, and replaced the #11 fuse (blown). Haven't taken it for a spin yet, but hopefully there isn't a short somewhere in there, which will just blow the new fuse.

Check the micro switch on the brake pedal. I had just put in a new shift kit and later that day the wire on the switch broke. They were completly non-related, but you can emagine my concern. I could not get the car out of park and had no brake lights.

You basically need to lay on your back on the driver side and shine a flashlight up to see the top of your brake pedal. The micro switch is a small switch with two wires (both green) comming out of it. Replacement switch is about $50.00. The only problem with mine was a broken wire at the switch.

Hope this helps... Check the #11 fuse first.

Sorry... just read your post regarding the blown fuse.

No problem, but there still might be a problem somewhere - why'd the fuse blow?

Also, my cruise stopped working - it's also on the #11 fuse, which is now fine (replaced).

Funny car, I love it - but it's like my LS - very tempermental :Bang .
