For the guys who wanted the solution to my foot operated park brake trouble: As i suspected, the pawl of the toothed cog was sticking, stopping the brake from releasing. I had sprayed it with wd40 but it didnt work. Today i got some PB blaster penetrating oil and gave the mechanism a thorough soaking and guess what? Good as new! That PB blaster is good stuff, much better than wd40.
