i finally got around to painting and a few days later installing the mclaren grill i bought months ago. i painted it completely to match the car (light parchment gold - wasnt my first choice as a color but i couldnt pass on the car) with the intention that i would possibly go back and paint the center black. what do you think?

Did you paint it yourself?
I bought one for my black LS and i dont know whether i should take it to a shop or attempt it myself.

Yea, the GWL's idea is a better choice I think. Go with that kind of black, but also paint the metal (part of the hood) that is under the grill so you won't see the color of the car.

Yes, do paint the back before you install the grille. It is something I have to do the next time I have it apart. In real life it is not so obvious as in this picture though.

+1 on the blackout job. I think it fits nicely with a black center.

Gudos!! That looks really nice, I like the color of your car! I did the Mclaren grill over a year ago and I used black duct tape to hide the color behind the grill that shows and got some black touch-up paint to color in the holes in the grill that do not go all the way thru the Mclaren grill. If you do those two things the grill will look very good painted all one color. Try it, it will only take about 20 mins for all.
