Airbag to spring conversion help

Hello,I have a 91 continental and i am wanting to convert my airbags to springs..i am needing to know if i just need the springs or do i need the springs and shocks and what year taurus do i need to get them from,i need to do this in the next couple of days,,,Thanks for all who replies

the springs/shocks (struts) will need to be replaced together.

your best bet is to get a kit from strutmasters or some other vendor that puts together the parts. The Taurus parts are not exact, but close. The continental weighs a bit more than a taurus, so the springs dont match up right. Also, the damping in the shock part of the strut is different too.

but if you want to try Taurus parts, I *think* 88-94 will work for ya (same year span as the continental on the same platform). if you can get em off an SHO, you might be better off in the spring department, but the struts might be a wee bit stiff.

Make sure you keep all the fasteners that dont break if your pulling parts from junkyard cars, as you will likely break them on the continental!

Ok thanks for the reply..i will check into that.is there any other ford car that i can pull the shocks and springs off of that would be better than the taurus...i need a fast fix for now...Thanks for the help

nope. Taurus/Sable line, or the Conti. As far as I know, nothing else used them struts.

you might hit the bone yards around your area, one may have a conti already converted to springs to rob parts from!
