I just located a used 3.9L to put into my LS (since this one just FREAKING BLEW UP... btw @#$* FORD), but it's been sitting in the junkyard since 2003. Car had a fire in the rear, so their system says it looks ok, but the guy at the yard hasn't looked at the engine in a while.

He's got a 30 day guarantee on the engine in case it doesn't run, but I'd hate to install it and find out it doesn't run.

What do you all think? He's not sure if it's still sitting in the car, or if it's on a shelf somewhere.

Talk him down in price, have someone take a look at it. Bring it back before 30 days if it doesn't look like what you want.
