tell him to start off with the basic bolt-ons and small stuff.... Mass air, exhaust, plugs and wires (won't help performance much, but will make it run SMOOOOOTH)..... for show.... rims, subs, head unit.... and when he gets ready to move up to the next level, turbo and blow-off valve

If someone doesn't make a CAI. They are not that hard to make your self. Also, xhaust is an easy one. Just buy the parts and take them to get installed.

Someone mention Contour SVT?! That car is sexy! Hard to find one for sale around here though.

Do searches and what not on google or something for the zx2. I'm sure they have things for them. Go to some speed shops and such too.
