MAGNIFICENT June 4th, 2007, 08:12 PM Sup everybody! I am new to this forum because I just got a Champagne 2005 Lincoln LS V8 and am already trying to hook it up. First thing I did was tint the windows (Pics coming soon) and now I am looking at the AVIC Z2 from Pioneer. I need the Double din bezel, but I only saw it in silver or black. My car is champagne and the interior is too. Does anyone know where I can get the right color for the bezel before the install? I am also looking into 18" rims because I will be driving it alot and think 20's might mess it up. Lemme know what you guys think, and help me basically to PIMP this bad ass ride...

bigpappy33 June 4th, 2007, 09:53 PM your interior bezel is silver just like all the 03+ LSes. The leather may be champagne. but it is def the silver color
jgfish97 June 4th, 2007, 10:43 PM The LS is an awesome car.

MAGNIFICENT June 5th, 2007, 03:48 AM Ok, so this IS the correct bezel for me?

Also, should I stay with the 18" rims?
tets June 5th, 2007, 06:47 AM If you dont want to go with 20s, I would suggest 19s. I personally think the 18s look too small, not much of an upgrade from 17" stock
MAGNIFICENT June 5th, 2007, 09:58 AM Hmmm.... will the 19" wheels affect my riding experience? I love the smooth ride that I have and I like to go fast at times. do you guys have a tire recommendation? I am looking at some Yokohamas right now. I just want it to look sporty, but still feel luxury. I have several potholes where I work, so I dont wanna have a rickety ride if I hit one of them too... Please advise.

jrockcentral1 June 5th, 2007, 03:23 PM You'll find wheels/rims are somewhat of a touchy subject on here. I was told that anything larger than 18" will decrease ride quality, handling, etc. to an extent. With 19"s I believe there are less choices as well. There are numerous threads about wheels, as well as mods like angel eyes, exhaust systems, springs, and LS specific troubleshooting (you'll find that out eventually ;).
Long story short, the search tool is your friend!
MAGNIFICENT June 5th, 2007, 08:48 PM Thanks for the tip. I'll stay with the 18" rims. Hopefully I can get this thing wired right, cause they said I need a new sub, amp, speakers, and tweeters to make this project go with the Z2.

A little off the subject but....I was told the same thing and my car rides BETTER with the 20's than the factory 17's. It rides like its on a cloud. Next to my Eibach's my best mod to date.
MAGNIFICENT June 10th, 2007, 12:53 AM Nice... Well maybe I will shop for 19" rims & tires!
PGA2B June 10th, 2007, 07:06 PM P.S. Get a Z1 because the Z2 does not have a proven hack for dvd while driving.
MAGNIFICENT June 10th, 2007, 10:56 PM The guys at Circuit city said they can bypass it. Is this not true?
The Reaper June 11th, 2007, 02:12 AM This is not true. Unless they are buddies of yours, no nation wide installer will risk the liability. They bypass it, you wreck, you go back and sue them because THEY bypassed it, thereby allowing you to get into the wreck. Have them put it in writing. Then maybe they will.
MAGNIFICENT June 11th, 2007, 02:45 AM Nice tip! one of the guys at Best Buy said he would do it for 50 bucks also.
paddy O June 11th, 2007, 08:39 PM nope still cant be done (and stay done for more than a couple hundred miles). the z2 upgrade got rid of the bypass that worked on the z1. check out the new panasonic with navi or the new kenwood dnx 7100 if you are looking for something that costs a little less and has an easy bypass.
MAGNIFICENT June 12th, 2007, 12:27 AM Man, I hope that aint true...
Mexican3001 June 12th, 2007, 06:47 AM yup... even the late model Z1's dont want to be bypassed because of the pioneers OS..... their for they wont do it for 50 bucks because it isnt possible, he might hook up the parking break wire to ground but that isnt going to do anything, so to burst your bubble of hope. take a look at this website, www.avic411.com , has info for bypassing the pioneer navi units, but none for the Z2, you might want to look into eclipse since all you have to do is ground out the parking break and you can watch video (which i dont recommend, while driving)
MAGNIFICENT June 12th, 2007, 08:34 PM Sucks to be me... I already purchased the Z2.
MAGNIFICENT June 16th, 2007, 10:44 AM Ok, I just got the stuff I need. I received the Bezel...

...from LSKoncepts and I was wondering if I need anything additional as far as the dash goes to put this thing in?
random t February 17th, 2008, 04:50 PM does anyone know how much installation would be for the avic z1 in the 2004 ls? and does ne one know any good places in brooklyn to get this done?
