the tranny on my 94 mark 8 has gone out. i've purchased a replacement but can't get the original out..i'm having one hell of time with the bolts that connect the trans to the engine :Bang ---what is the best way to do this, how do i get to the top bolts & do i have to remove the exhaust to get to them... any help would be appreciated.

I did this a few months ago... and my bolts were siezed... for the tops you just need long extensions and a swivel 6 point 13mm socket use an impact but make sure you are on the bolts first so that you dont strip them... I took the wiper assembly out so the whole thing can be held on to the bolt by a friend.
And the exhaust that needs to come off is the part with one cat attached and the resegnator.... the manifolds can stay on it.

IMO It is way worth the time to put a jack under the k-mem and impact the k-mem bolts out, you will need internal torx, and drop the whole k-mem/ engine asmbly down about 5 inches. This will give you all the clearance needed not only to get to the bolts but also slip the tranny out. If not the tranny will hit the body and is very difficult to remove. Hope this helps.
