Yesterday, I discovered that the oil pump on my '93 Conti IS EXTERNAL. It's actually bolted to the timing chain cover at about the 4 o'clock position. Yes it is directly in line with the distributor, which also mounts on the timing chain cover. All of which is damned difficult to get to when you have a gasket failure between the timing chain cover and the block.:mad: :mad: :mad:spelling

doing anything on that end of the engine is damn difficult due to the lack of room. something about a wheel well being in the way
