My ABS has been engaging at times it shouldn't. Really a weird thing. Usually it happens when the weather is perfect (not damp or humid) and I put on the brakes to stop at a traffic light or stop sign on perfectly flat pavement.

Any thoughts?

do you have a local mechanic? if not maybe someone here is clother to you and has the diagnostic tools to find the problem.

is the light just coming on or is the ABS system actually engaging?

No light, the ABS is engaging when it's not necessary.

Yes, I do. I have never taken my Lincoln to him though. He has worked on other vehicles of mine.
