Searched but this is new from what I see.
Im my 04 V8 with SST I shift from 1st to 2nd at about 6500RPMs. When I shift up to second once in a while it skips second gear and goes into 3rd. What could be causing this?

You are inadvertently double tapping. The trans will not up-shift on it's own. The engine will just bounce off the rev-limiter.

Im not sure about that. It happens closer to 6500 RPM's. If I shift at like 6K it doesnt happen. It double shifts by itself.
Might have to check Torries XCAL tune, there might be too much line pressure in the trans.

Ahhh... You didn't say anything about an Xcalibrator. In that case, I would guess that Torrie makes the trans up-shift when you hit the rev limiter.

Torrie just told me that the 1-3 shift is in the LS software. It is some kind of torque reducing shift and he doesnt know how to get around it.
It only happens when shifting 1-2 very close to redline.

Funny you bring this up. Mine did it twice last night at the track and never did it before. I wasn't doing anything different than any onther day. I have my rev limiter at 7k to avoid bumping it and I wasn't even close to that.
Hope it doesn't become a common thing.
Hit a 14.5 one time it happened, that could of been a best time possibly.
Mines a 02 with the SST1 correction by Torrie.

It does suck, especially when running someone and having the car go from 1-3 and losing because of a stupid shift.

The fastest shifts are in full auto, according to the guy that wrote the transmission calibration code.....

Really?
Seemed before and after the Xcal2 SST always hits fastest. I squeaked the tires 1-2 in SST without the Xcal2 a few times...never in D5. Now with the Xcal2 it just flat out cuts them loose 1-2 and chirps 2-3 in SST.
