Heater Core replacement

Has anyone replaced the heater core on a 1996 MKVIII? Looks like I have something else to fix. I started smelling some sweet stuff last week, and I checked it last night. Sure enough, the passenger floor under the mat was soaked with coolant. Do you have to pull the whole dash?

Need I say it?...

Ok, Ok.. I'll say it. SEARCH!

With that said, here's what I came up with.

The tccoa link isn't for a Mark VIII, but it's similar enough to give you an idea.

Also, make sure you pressure test the new core.

Frogman, your avatar serves you well!! With that said, I will be performing a delicate but necessary heater core bypass procedure.
