KD00LS April 22nd, 2007, 10:05 AM Nah they'll rub, too little offset. Also wrong bolt pattern! to low of an offset nearlyhalfamile April 22nd, 2007, 01:49 PM Also wrong bolt pattern! That depends on what year thunderbird we are talking about. robby April 23rd, 2007, 07:42 PM the t-bird is a 97, will they fit on a mark 8? thanks. Sn8kbordin April 23rd, 2007, 07:59 PM I put on my cousin's aftermarket 18" wheels from his 96 t-bird on my LS. Not sure about the offset but they stuck out too much. chriswells78 April 23rd, 2007, 08:46 PM +1 on the sticking out. Mine are 17x7.5 on a 42mm offset and they almost stick out. Your looking at a wider wheel and less offset. Sn8kbordin April 23rd, 2007, 09:21 PM It was 9" wide and I found a pic of it (click on the image to go my gallery and view full size 2MP image): http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/3521/1330758009068924818S600x600Q85.jpg (http://sports.webshots.com/photo/1330758009068924818myDPRX) http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/3595/1330758053068924818S600x600Q85.jpg (http://sports.webshots.com/photo/1330758053068924818mwZeyg) SoonerLS April 23rd, 2007, 10:27 PM the t-bird is a 97, will they fit on a mark 8? thanks. Yeah, if they fit that vintage T-Bird, they should fit both an LS and a Mark VIII, bolt-pattern wise. I don't know what the Mark's offset is, but it should be the same as or very close to the T-Bird's. (The LS's is 60mm, BTW.) DarkMansLSEV8 April 24th, 2007, 03:43 AM I had a MarkVIII with Cobra R's that I had on my 95 Cougar, they'll fit with no issues. The LS shares the same bolt pattern with 93-98 Lincoln Mark VIII's and with the 89-97 T-bird/Cougar MN-12's also with the Rangers and Marquis and Crown Vics and Marauders I believe. The offset is different though. And you dont want to go with 9" wide b/c to me they'll stick out to much. chriswells78 April 24th, 2007, 07:14 AM I had a MarkVIII with Cobra R's that I had on my 95 Cougar, they'll fit with no issues. IIRC Panthers share the F-150 5 on 5.5 pattern. Remember this formula [.5(x)]-y=how far it will stick out where x is the width of the wheel and y is the back spacing. if x is 9" then half would be 4.5" if y is 36mm or 1.41" http://www.psinvention.com/zoetic/convert.htm the outer edge of your wheel will be 3.09" out from the face of your hub. Don't forget also to allow up to 3/8" for tire bulge because tires are almost never flush with the edge of the rim. I have a 7.5 wheel with 42mm bs and they don't stick out at all, but I have noticed more road splash on the body panels because they do stick out at the bottom more. | ||||
