viiiball November 18th, 2004, 10:33 PM this is going to be the year i get my mark ,in the shape i want it,i am working on cleaning up the engine, goinig to get some parts from Geno to get my cold air intake more proficiant, also since i work for ford now i can get parts discounted and have access to lifts and all good tools, just got new wider tires, peeled off old tint, replaced the air ride(with coil overs),interior is on my makeover list too, cool tan leather look sport seats from summit, clean carpet, and white face gauges, :feedback  things i wont be able to get right away is a tranny replacement and wheels...but they will come in time, anyway.......what i am getting at is this spring I am going to paint the car,I have a PDR guy at work who will pull all 6 of my Wal-Mart shopping cart dents out for cheap, I have a donar car for a new grill, (mine got cracked at work, when someone backed into it)and hood, for some reason my original looks like it is splitting at the nose, and a driverside fender(a bad door ding in the fender wheel well at top, some jackass really opened their door into it.......anyway i need tips for mounting the grill, fender, and hood, i can get the jist of it but want to do it right.
My next question is,can i paint over all the chrome on the car, the side, and bumper molding, and 1/4 window and grill, also cant decide on color...i have 3 choices you chime in with your fav.
1. Sonic Blue
2. Mach1 blue
3.Legend Lime metallic green (New 2005 mustang color)
4.Competition orange
5.Chrome Yellow
i know this thread is long but i really need your input, paint tips and all. I cannot wait....all new pics coming this summer....stay tuned!!!!!

unstoppable November 19th, 2004, 12:40 AM Yes, you can paint the chrome, but its kinda a crap shoot as to how long it stays looking perfect.
It all depends on the prep work thats done. You will need to lightly rough up the chrome with 320-400 grit sand paper and the use a product called adhesian promotor before its primed and painted.
Take your time and do it right and you will be happy.Rush it and you'll be pissed at yourself.
viiiball November 19th, 2004, 12:52 PM here is an example of legend lime metallic....whatta you think for the mark :Beer

To me it has nothing to do with the look of that color on a Mark.....I do not like it even on the Stang.....

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE I wish I could get close like that and have it look that good, the good news is the guys who painted the car have agreed to re do it after thanks giving what paint code did you use? I’m going to watch him like a hawk when he paint’s the car, do you still have the badges on there or did you take them off? :Beer
oh yha i still like #2
StraDog November 21st, 2004, 06:14 PM Thanks for the kind reply. Yea I removed all badges on the car, front bumper badge and the two trunk ones. When I had the trunk repainted, I had them fill the holes, also goes for the front bumper.
