Valve body....

Anyone install a valve body in a Gen 1 from a 99+ Mustang? I was reading the Jerry Mod on TCCOA and they mentioned something about using a 99+ VB. I know it is not a must but if one could be had for a good price is it worth changing over to it?

Are you having problems with yours? Do you have any additional mods?

If you answer both to know I would not bother unless you can get one cheap or free and are planning on doing the J-Mod at the same time, there is no really need to.

The valve bodies are not a real weak point, the trans itself can be.

I have the 1-2 shudder and leaking trans gasket. Whoever serviced the trans last used a cork gasket and RTV and you can see a gap near the RTV where the fluid is leaking. I planned on doin the 1-2 accumulator and gathering courage to tackle the J Mod.

Well the shudder is bad fluid - 99.9% of the time. A switch to Mercon V will clear it up and dont forget to drain the torque convertor.

If your having harsh/quick 1-2 shifts then new 1-2 accumulators are an order, but I would replace then no matter what when you do all this.

The J-Mod is easy, all the work is getting to the separator plate. Drilling the plate is the easy part. I recommend new drill bits so your right on spec.

If you need help you can search the forums or PM me and I can go into detail and take all the tech outt of it. Really, its an easy project, you just making holes bigger in a metal plate.
