I have a 1996 mark Viii that was running hot. I change the t-stat, didnt fix it. Change the radiator, didnt fix it.Changed the temp sensor, didnt fix it.Finally changed the water pump FIXED IT. I didnt think it would be the water pump because when I tested it it seemed to be working ok. Anyway thanks to all the people who gave me suggestions on how to solve my problem.

Let me guess, the impeller came loose from the shaft? Or did the bearings go bad and cause it to slip on the belt?

Should have got a 99 Cobra pump, direct fit, better flow and great high rpm protection.

You mean an Aviator pump. ;)
Full shrounding, largest impeller.
Better yet, a Meziere electric water pump. :D

I thought the 01 and up pumps are a different design and won't fit at all. And yes the Meziere electric water pump is the best but is quite costly.

Glad you got it fixed. I think I may have a leak on mine Gen 1.

How much is the electric pump?

About $300. But it was a great purchase. The water pump is the most parasitic of all of the engine acessories.
