Im looking to do a mild buildup on my new 96 LSC and have been doing alot of research in order to wake the car up a little bit. I havnt really decided which direction Im going to go with exhaust\intake setup yet, and am looking for more advice than anything. With OBD II will I be better off with a chip or a tuner? I have been looking at doing the J-mod and possibly a 3200 stall converter. 3.73's are also an option. Right now I dont really have a ton of money to put into the car, and want to wake it up a little bit and kinda get a list of parts so I can start buying the one by one.

Also is it a good idea to do the J-mod even though my car only has 52k mi on it. It shifts fine right now.

I thought about UD pulleys, but Im planning on putting a bigger stereo in it in the future and the stock ALT is already to small, Id hate to starve it even more.

I Guess my question is how to get 300RWHP without breaking the bank.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nitrous is the cheapest and easiest... Its all about preference though.

There was a relatively lengthy discussion about this here not too long ago.
