Warning beeps? (long question)

Hello everyone. I have a question about my "new" 2000 LS8. I have no owners manual and cant find the answer for this. I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd start with electrical.

When starting the car, it gives me a series of 5 beeps, a short pause and then repeats this series 4 more times. There are no warning lights and nothing shows in the message center. It is the same pitch/sound as the beep when you toggle through the fuel status but is longer in duration than the short beep.

When I do a status check, everything checks out OK, (the oil life says it is at 8%). The car runs fine, no stutters, smoke or anything to indicate a problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tracy

Does your Air Bag check light come on when you first turn the key to on or start? On my Mk7 if the lamp for the air bag is burnt out or missing the air bag computer beeps 5 times per the factory service manual. I'm talking about the air bag in the steering wheel.

sorry - most post of the Lincoln LS are idirectly in that section - so we don't see these ones.

does it make the beep in reverse and when you go over 70mph as well?

I'm sorry. The urge to be a complete jackass overwhelms me sometimes.
