Quik LS February 24th, 2007, 05:02 PM Anyone interested?
I have a three bay garage, a lift, tools, ....etc
I live 3 miles from the Oasis - food, view, live music....
thinking - last Sunday in March - I'm in California and Vegas earlier in the month.
looking for some projects we can tackle together and then have some food / beers...
owlman February 24th, 2007, 06:06 PM I have no mechanical knowledge but I'd be happy to hang out, check out some fellow LSes, and maybe learn a thing or two!
tx_ls February 24th, 2007, 06:08 PM Quik-
I'm right up the road from you in Cedar Park. I've seen you out on 2222..love those curves. I'm game.
northstar11 February 24th, 2007, 06:24 PM My LS would have 100,000 miles on it by the time I got it down to you:) How bout THIS LS day in wisconsin! We can get together and wash the salt off our ls'es and maybe have some hot chocolate:p What? No takers?
Man, I would love to, but thats a long trip:shifty:
Sounds like a blast tho. How is that car of yours runnin?
o3sonicbluexlt February 24th, 2007, 07:11 PM as with northstar, i would love to, but im just a couple of miles away
dealmaster February 24th, 2007, 08:39 PM I JUST registered, and I'm going to be getting an LS close to this summer, so maybe then I can swing by and wrench a little bit. I can't wait to get an LS since I'm driving around my 94 Grand Marquis (distant cousin, twice-removed of the LS). I drove a 2003 V6 (blah, sorry V6 owners, but I love me some V8) a couple years ago as a rental car and I fell in love with it.
lloydrage February 24th, 2007, 09:41 PM :q:q:q:q I will drive up there, maybe get my exhaust done. I live in Corpus Christi
should be awesome
Boomhower February 24th, 2007, 10:09 PM You lucky dogs....I'd love to be there
I drove a 2003 V6 (blah, sorry V6 owners, but I love me some V8)
Actually, you'd be surprised at how good the V6's run. I've driven with gt95coupe a couple of times now in some twisties, and the V6 is very hard to shake. I gained a lot of respect for them, and wouldn't totally eliminate a V6 from my search.....Good luck though.
StincolnLincoln February 24th, 2007, 11:49 PM i dont drive an LS but would love to rebuild my 88 LSC i already have my custom stainless steel tail pipes and mandrel bent pipes. Wanna change out the entire exhaust and headers as well new fuel tank and fuel pump. redo the interior and so on...im off of Wells Branch Pkwy here in Austin..
jgfish97 February 25th, 2007, 03:24 AM Quik,
I'm down to meet up too. Been wanting to meet you since I had my '02 and had exhaust questions... (which you helped answer) :D
Maybe the exhaust for the '06 will be out by then!
StincolnLincoln February 25th, 2007, 11:31 AM So wasup lets make a get together day happen i will be out of town in NJ from March 2nd til the 5th.

Quik LS February 25th, 2007, 11:40 AM cool deal - I belong to several car forums - and will try to pull as many folks in as we can. I'll post up a date - thinking 4/1 Sunday - and the following weekend as a rain-date.
Think through some projects that we can tackle together.
Macoffutt February 25th, 2007, 07:29 PM wish I was a bit closer.
dealmaster February 25th, 2007, 07:50 PM I wish I had my LS already. :( Can Mercury owners play or is it Lincoln only?
NickLS February 26th, 2007, 07:26 AM I got my magnaflow I ordered still in the delivery box. This would be a great time to install it (if you have the space and time allowed).
Put me down on the list
lloydrage February 26th, 2007, 08:17 AM I am going to get magnaflow exhaust by then so we can install,

I too would love to participate in that. A good garage, some knowledgable poeple, tools...sounds like a winning situation. How many miles from Orlando to Austin again?
Seriously though, if you guys get some good stuff done take some pictures and do some write ups. Good Luck.
StincolnLincoln March 8th, 2007, 03:37 PM hhmmmm i have an 88LSC that need a complete over hauling lol... nah i just want to change the interior and seat color redo the exhaust i have 3" stainless steel tail pipes and mandrel bents plus i want to put a rear bumper and trunk lid on gas tank and fuel pump. to name a few things i want to do before i repaint her.

GWL March 9th, 2007, 01:44 PM I cannot make this one. BTW what ever happened to the AR get together?
NickLS March 12th, 2007, 09:18 AM So what's the 411 on this Quik? Any updates on a time/date? Is this gonna happen? Excited to see if this pan's out. Austin is a mere short drive! (for me :))
Quik LS March 13th, 2007, 07:14 AM Well - I thinking Sunday the 1st - or Saturday the 7th?
leaning towards the 1st - then use the 7th as an alternate rain day. I'm off work the week in between so if any of the Sunday projects run over - no big deal....
we need to finalize what the projects will be...
NickLS March 13th, 2007, 01:29 PM The 7th would be good. (for me at least) I would like to install my magnaflow.

NickLS March 23rd, 2007, 08:59 PM ARGH!! Looks like I'm gonna miss out on all the fun!!
I'm still on for the 7th (if that's ok).
Quik LS March 25th, 2007, 08:24 PM ok - here' the plan – this Sunday 1st
about 6 to 10 folks coming
unless more projects surface - we'll open shop at 10am
about noon or so – we will BBQ a simple lunch – brats, burgers, …etc
Beers, soda, ..etc will be on hand throughout the day…
I have a couple of things to chat about
- LiveWire
- the rear diff with the Cobra T2 Torsen
- a set of port and polished heads
and of course the Supercharged Quik.
Hoping we can still find more projects to work on other LSes – but if not – the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 (Martinsville Speedway) 12:30pm can be buzzing in the background. I have a large hi-def TV.
If we are still going late in the afternoon – we can plan to hit the Oasis for some music and eats….
Right now the forecast for the 1st is Sunny and a High of 75 – but if it should rain – we will postpone until Saturday 7th. I have a UFC pay-per-view party already planned for that Saturday night – so if we move the garage day to the 7th - anyone who wants to hang are welcome to.
I will post first thing in the morning of the 1st to confirm it’s still on for the 1st
lloydrage March 25th, 2007, 10:59 PM UFC, GSP is going to stomp Serra.

jgfish97 April 7th, 2007, 06:47 PM I may stop by too. I didn't make it last weekend but may tomorrow for a little bit.
Quik LS April 8th, 2007, 10:33 AM Here's a couple of pics of swapping out Nick's exhaust with a new magnaflow...
1) his LS up on the lift
2) the pulled stock exhaust
3) Nick working on it...
SoonerLS April 8th, 2007, 11:00 AM I'm sure Nick appreciates it, but you really didn't need to wash the driveway, and the house, and the neighbor's house... :D
NickLS April 9th, 2007, 01:36 PM Well, all I can say is "WOW"!
It's was just me, Lou, and his son putting the magnaflow on. The hardest part of the ENTIRE project was getting the old exhaust off those blasted rubber hangers. But after that, it was just bolting on the new exhaust and doing alittle alignment tweaking.
The first time you start it up, I got a rush and goose bumps. But was really cool is the sound when your laying UNDERNEATH the car and Lou taps the gas so I can check for leaks and your about 12 inches from the pipes. AWESOME!!! (and kinda scary:rolleyes:)
Also, the fact that it was about 40 degF outside and it was raining/light hail/rain/light hail for then entire time made everything alittle slower and harder to do. Nothing like numb fingers and toes.
But what was really awesome was Quik. That car is UNBELIEVABLE!! Seeing it in person was sweet! But I actually got to have a ride in it, rippin down the street! Seeing and Hearing that supercharger made me want to throw one in mine.
All I can say is Thank You Lou. You have a great heart, home, family, and friends. I felt really welcomed while I was there. Thanks for dinner and the beer. Definelty worth the frost bite and cut up knuckles.
Next on my list is new braided steel brake lines. (and that power switch like you have by the ashtray)
GrayGhost1 April 9th, 2007, 01:43 PM Looks like it was a productive day. Got any more pics?
NickLS April 9th, 2007, 01:50 PM That's about it.. We should have taken pics throughout the install, but it just slipped our minds.. When we thought about it, we already had it 90% bolted on.
Oh yeah, Hey Lou here is that link to that oil drain valve I was talking about:
Fumoto Drain Valve (http://www.fumotovalve.com/)
But w/ how low Quik is, I don't know if this would work since it's slightly longer (7/8") than a standard plug(1/2").
