Skipper80 November 11th, 2004, 11:23 AM I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there having issues with the LEDs on their DDE Kit. So far i have had to replace the LEDs on the outer rings on both driver and passenger side twice. For some reason they keep buring out. I have them connected to the parking lights. Is it that maybe that i have them connected wrong? Would aftermarket lightbulbs cause them to burn out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Quik LS November 11th, 2004, 06:18 PM I've had mine for about 6months - all fine. They are tapped into the parking lamps as well.
GrayGhost1 November 11th, 2004, 06:47 PM WEll, the LED lights are not designed to take the tremendous amount of heat that is generated in the headlights. I use to sell the the LED DDE's but got away from them. I now sell the CCFL DDE's. They are much more superior to the LED's. Also, I am the only one that has the correct mounting system for the CCFL DDE's.

Do you still have the stock lightbulbs?

Quik LS, just wondering about the visibility of the led dde kit at dusk/dawn, and at night with low beams on.
Quik LS December 18th, 2004, 08:27 PM i use the new ' 12,000 mcd ' LEDs - and the are bright enough to see during dusk/dawn. They are not as bright as ccfs.
SurfjaxLS December 18th, 2004, 08:37 PM Are you still using white/blue leds?
Quik LS December 18th, 2004, 08:38 PM nope - upgraded to the bright white ones.
SurfjaxLS December 18th, 2004, 08:43 PM where did you purchase the kit, and how hard was it to install?
Quik LS December 18th, 2004, 08:48 PM $50 off e-bay - autotecknic.com
installing is simple - put your headlamps in the oven at 210 degrees for 15mins - pull them apart, epoxy the rings in, ....
the only catch is - only headlamps with grey glue sealent will work. We haven't figured out how to pull the newer ones that use black sealent apart.
SurfjaxLS December 18th, 2004, 10:10 PM what model of car was the kit intended for?
