I was wondering if anyone has installed the Peripheral PXFD98 adapter in their LS at all or more specifically with the 6 disc in-dash? I have an '03 lux v8 without the navigation. I had heard about the PIE (sp?) adaptor that would NOT work with the cd changer. Thanks for any help on this. The link

I'm not sure how it would work with the in dash 6. Since there really is no other "input" to select. In the non in-dash 6-disc, there's a input ont he back of the radio for it. But I wouldn't imagine that the in-dash has that same input. This is just a guess. But I'm fairly sure those units all use the factory cd changer input.

I use the PIE on my 01 LS (audiophile 6-CD indash) :

To access it you press the CD button a second time (it comes up in the 'media' steering wheel button)

NOTE: NOT compatible with, nor are there any converters available for, any Ford-made vehicles equipped with the 6-Disc in-dash headunit and/or factory navigation system.
This is from that website does Ford-made not include Lincoln? That is what threw me off. Do you just have an rca running out from your dash somewhere then?

Right - a couple of RCA jacks come out of the PIE.

And this works with the in-dash alpine 6-dsc changer? Just verifying before I spend 100 bucks.

I have a 2001 LS Premium with the 12 speaker audiophile system. I actually plug my Dell X5 Axim into it using a mini-stereo to RCA cable. I play mp3/wma that way.

I have the same system, just making sure it works with the 6-disc in dash alpine, I'm sure you understand.

no worries.
Remember - It's not like the new iPod connectors which use the iPod as a hard drive and let you select tracks from the headunit, and it's all digital music.
In my case, you have to 'play' the mp3 on the PDA, and the headunit plugs into the earphone jack. It's still good quality - but since it's digital to analog to digital it's not quite as good as all digital.
