Start-ups would be between $2500.00-$3000.00 and the hood itself will be no more then $649.00.

We would need a good startup group of people willing to pony up the money on 8 hoods and be willing to wait up to but no more then 60 days (provided there is no issues).

This is my personal opinion, i've seen many many items talked about, and slightly produced, but nothing really in the making and clearly finished. I am all about being different with my lincoln and all about being the first one to do something or to maybe do it better or more worthwhile, who knows, i just like to be different. I commented about the rear spoiler and never got responces and other stuff, never got a private message about the idea or person in reference. If it is maybe someone footing the bill that you need, that shouldn't be so hard to accomplish. What you are trying to do is make 8 hoods and sell them for 3 grand or so, me personally, just like the guy above said about the track record, me personally, i rather not give someone 3 grand of my money to sit and see if its gonna happen. I"m sure this forum has a handful of really organized and really serious people, so why not approach them directly instead of posting a group message that from the previous postings seems to get no where. Just in my personal group of friends, we have 7 mark viiis. In this forum, i have no clue who to message or who to ask and get very broad inquiries on my post, yet no real user friendly interaction. I run multiple sites, internet security and what not and just my personal opinion, i'd work with the people who are really interested and see if you can get something going. Some people here have car clubs and sponsorships and everything that could take on the whole 8 hood project themselves if need be. What if someone wanted all 8 hoods exclusively, or 20 hoods exclusively, then you'd be the manurfacturer for this particular small setup, instead of waiting for 8 different individuals to musterd up the courage to give you 3 grand to see what happens. I'm interested in everything aftermarket, yet it never seems to get developed. Just send me a message when everything is ready or in development or add me to a list of friends or something, because the want for products is always here, guranteed.

Of course it will work just like stiock? The hood will be the EXACT same as the Gen 1 Cobra R , not too hard to think what it would look like. I do not even have time to finish my own website let alone PS a hood (that already exists) onto a Gen 2 Mark, sorry. We already have the hood plug we would just need to make it work on the Gen 2.

You can do whatever you want. It was pun because anytime something comes up that people SAY they want it never sells, like the current Gen 1 hood that we have had for sale for well over 3 years now and sold a grand total of 14.

It's just simple facts from the past experiences I have had with this market as whole including the CobraStar emblems that 15, 000 plus people begged for and to this day we still havent sold 200.

I am basically giving you a beware and save our loot or you will just be sitting on hoods, try it.

Real simple demographic. We have had the Gen 1 hood now for 3 years plus and have sold 11 total.

There are more Gen 1's produced then Gen 2's.

Less Gen 2's = less hoods.

Try it. PLEASE do it I would love to see this. Make them, sell them, won't affect me a bit you will just get a lesson leaerned that I have already learned the HARD way.

Once a mold is done, and a turnaround of less than 2 weeks after an order, I'd think people would buy them. I don't see how I could lose money, after all the initial cost of the mold and the first hood would have already been spent. I'm not investing into a mold to sell these damned things. It's something I'm investing for a hood for myself. As I've mentioned a few posts back, I don't want to get into the Mark VIII part business. I really don't feel like dealing with taxes on yet another business.

It would be one of those "You want a hood? Fine, this is the guy you have to call, and this is what it costs to make the hood. Send him the money to cover the hood, and have fun.

I know you understand that the upfront cost is the big hurdle. $2-$4k upfront is alot to recoup when people dont buy. I looked into doing something like this myself and decided not to because of just that reason.

This has been covered so many times. SMALL RUN ITEMS COST MORE!! Period. I have to pay $3800.00 in mold and toolong costs, then the first runs, then HOPE to sell some to make a LITLLE teeny tiny rediculous profit. Example, Gen I hood took $5700.00 to launch with ALL costs involved including the forst 5 units about 8 years ago, as of today we have sold a grand total of 11 hoods, ELEVEN!!!! Its a joke.

Not even worth it to be totally honest and this is why I will not layout my hard earned cash to SIT on something that takes YEARS to see the pink on, been there done that too MANY times, sorry to come off like this but it is the harsh reality and truth of it all.

If it were a Mustang hood sure it would be $395.00 because I would sell them weekly or more. I sell 2 hoods a YEARRRRR if Im lucky.

most people don't understand custom work is costly and the aftermarket is cheaper because the demands is already known to be high before it hits the market

I couldn't find the approx price per hood... I haven't yet gotten my mark, but would seriously consider buying a hood first! (limited numbers, gotta get it when you can!). Just need a price.
