my rack & pinion is bad, i got a new one with new outer tie rod ends and ive just been slacking like mad on replacing it. i got a flat tire last night and just got a wake up call on just fixing everything in my car.

the thing is my boss sais i can change it myself. i had a few questions which i cant find the answers to:

1. to lift the front end i only have one jack, and i was looking at lifting points somewhere, cant remember where and im not sure if thers a lifting point right in the middle front. just cant figure out how to raise the whole front end of the car. and take both wheels off like the instructions tell me.

2. how much power steering fluid do i need once i replace it.

3. how important is it to flush the power steering system before the proceedure?

thanks guys. \m/(>_<)\m/

Lift the front of the car with the air suspension off and via the K member under the oil pan.

You need less than a gallon of fluid. The owner's manual covers the exact amount. If the pump is being changed, use power steering fluid, which should be better than the Type F ATF that was originally spec'd.

Flushing before is a waste of materials and energy. Flush it after and consider replacing any lines and bushings now.
