I was scrounging around a junkyard today and found a Mark VII, so I popped the hood and looked it over. I noticed that the car had headers. Did these cars come with stock headers, the ones on the car didn't look aftermarket. They were of fairly low quality if they were aftermarket but generally looked more like a stock peice.

Tahts what I thought. They just didn't look like an aftermarket peice, more mass produced than a performance product.

They're actually a stainless header. The surface rust comes from the lower nickel or chromium content in the alloy. Past the surface rust, they'll never corrode all the way through.
