Anybody know where to buy a set of gen 1 hid's for my 95 mark? I tried Dennis Reinhart and that guy who posted in the lod forum but they both were out anybody know of any online sites to get them?

Good luck. Sylvania ain't making them no'mo. Your best bests are Ebay and pay upwards of 500 bucks for one bulb.
A junk yard that is not aware of the bulb shortage and has a mark with HID's,

Or you can contact 04SSHD and see if he'll make you an adapter plate to run a more common HID bulb. I dont know all of the details on this adapter plate, but it would seem it works.

Have fun.

I could be wrong, but I think the bulbs are interchangeable between the 1st and 2nd gens.

I believe the 1st gen has 9005's

NO....GEN1 HID's take 9500, not 9005.

Standard halogen housings use 9005's

He is asking for HIDs for his 95, and if he bought a conversion kit for 9005 that would fit.

You can pick up brand new halogen housings from ford with all the bulbs included for $400 thru 5 star or ford country. It is cheaper than hid's and they will last if you keep your auto light feature turned off. That's what I did and they work like new as they should, I used HIR bulbs for a brighter light output. You can pick them up on ebay. Nothing wrong with the halogen bulbs that come pre installed though. This whole HID thing seems like it's becoming a real hassle anymore.

My conversion kit should work on Gen 1 HID cars.

I love the internet.

Colin needs a complete set of 1st gen HIDs, not a crappy 9005 kit to put in his halogens. Why would you do that anyway ?

I have one brand new driver's side lense availble only if you still need it.

Mis-read the first post, I thought he was looking for a replacement bulb for his Gen 1 with factory HID's.

Ya. No one seems to have them. I too almost had them in hand, until Torrie realized he could not get them from Ford. I went with new front struts, in the end it was the better choice since my headlamps were new anyway.

I have a friend here in town that owns a 96 Mark VIII and has the HID-9500 bulbs in his car. One of the HID bulbs are out and finding the replacement bulbs are damn near impossible. Can he swap out the HID-9500 bulbs and replace them with an 9005 HID conversion kit or are the sockets and headlights different?

I might be selling my HID's soon. Keep an eye on the for sale forums...

Well, this looks like your best option on the gen 1 HID kits:

Jeremi (M Maker) had a bunch he was trying to sell. I think he dropped his prices? He posts here. Not trying to help him, but he might have what you'd need.

For a few years, I mounted a set of strong driving lights behind the grill. While it wasn't quite as effective as the real HID bulbs and lenses, it did work well- and only cost about $50.

HID kits in halogen lenses are illegal.
