AnderbrA December 12th, 2006, 10:36 AM Rained last night and froze this morning.....buddy from work just happened to have his camera out taking pictures of his truck, so he took some videos.
They normally dont salt or plow our parking lot unless there is a lot of snow, so its always fun when this happens.

There was plenty of room between poles and the whole half of the parking lot was empty.
It would be fun to take a beater on it and play pinball with the poles. lol

Its quite a good time....burnouts can get spendy, expecially with the wheels you have since im sure tires are not cheap.
Good thing about ice/water is that it doesnt have as much wear on your tires. ;)

I grew up in the snow belt and we only had rear-wheel drive cars (not SUVs or crossing overs or other nutsy stuff) and when it snowed – I headed out to the high school parking lot. :D There in snow from 3 to 8 inches deep I would spend hours and a tank of gas doing doughnuts and slides and spins in the wet snow. As it packed down it began to slide faster. :eek: I did this in a monster 1960 Buick with Goodyear snow tires. By the end of the period I could hit a slide from a 45 MPH run and thread between two cement parking blocks perfectly. This exercise taught me how to control a car that wants to go out of control on the slide. Now, when it snows I pass everyone on the interstate (including those stranded and tipped-over SUVs) because I know how to drive in adverse weather. And my trusty LS is rear-wheel drive, of course. :L
Kevin December 13th, 2006, 02:04 PM Be VERY careful doing stuff like that. I do it all the time too, but the LS has a habit of snapping over (too heavy in the rear compared to other RWD's?).
It's a blast though, and I know you had fun :). I have a really big empty parking lot - no light poles - in my area, and you can get well over 30mph and throw it into a sideways slide. Which is actually very educational for when you're on the highway or street and lose a bit of control.
BTW, that's not winter yet, just a bit of ice ;).
