I have a 2001 ls and recently had warning lights for trani malfunctions( an "E" displays where P,D5, etc. usually does). Anyone else having problems. Also my airbag light came on yesterday, anyone else.

the trannie issues could be a number of things - unless you are comfortable working on transmissions - take it some place. the vavle body or solenoid packs are usually the problem.

I just went through similar symptoms. "E", and "check transmission" message, also clunky shifts under harder acceleration. It shifted fine under lighter loads however.

$550 later I have a new tranny solenoid, new trans fluid and filter. Shifts better than ever now.
