That time of year....

Ok so its cold out now. And I discovered the seat heaters dont work, or I dont know how to work them. Both power seats work fine, however the heater controls on the dash wont lite up nor will the seats heat up.

So all you Mark VIII Guru type people, what is the problem and what is the fix?:)

Well. First thing, check the fuse. Then, pop the control off and see if the connectors are loose. I would doubt that, since each seat has it's own conector ar the heater buttons.

check to see if you're getting power to the connectors.

If one heater wouldn't work and the other did, I'd suspect a bad heating pad. But since neither work, I'd suspect the problem is between the battery and the controls. Likely, a bad connection or a burned out fuse.

So the heaters have a seperate fuse from the power seat? Ok, thanks. I will look for that tonight.

This is on a 98 LSC if it matters btw.

I dont know if they have a separate fuse from the power seat, but i would think they do.

Yeah, its separate. The heater part draws WAY too much current to power it through the seat position harness.

Anyone have a diagram of the Fuse Block on a 98 so I know which one I am looking for?

Owner's Manual. If you don't have it, you can download it from ford's website.
