door lock troubles

Anyone know what this sounds like? Heres the deal:

power locks on passenger side don't work at all. However, pass. side power switches will lock or unlock driver's side. Driver's side switches will lock driver's door only, not unlock them.

I have recently taken pass. door panel off to check for obvious shorts/disconnects, could find none. This is after, months ago did the same to both doors, found nothing, got frustrated, and decided to put it off. Any sugestions? Many thanks.

Start by checking to make sure both lock actuators still work.

Kojak,
The electronic actuators may be your problem. They don't las too long. My original drivers door went after about 8 years. The second and third ones lasted two and three years respectively. The forth is still functioning for now. Ford replacements are only garanteed for 1 year. Because the passenger side usually remains locked I have not had to replace it yet. At over $100 a pop plus all the pita work its a bit annoying.

Or you can get an actuator from a later model Ford and just swap the rods, which is what I did for my '92.

Do they work any better than what I'd find on ebay? I'd give that a shot.

Finally got the replacements off eBay. Took a little while to figure everything out, but replacing them was not as bad as I thought it'd be. When the driver's side goes (probably soon) it should take less than an hour, mostly gathering the tools. Thanks everyone.
