BB wire wheels.Gray Mist November 4th, 2006, 09:48 PM Any great ideas how to get my BB wheels nice and shiney? Showing their age and would like an easy solution to making them look like new. ND4SPDLSC November 4th, 2006, 11:11 PM The wheels are actually modular. There is a hub that holds all 60 spokes in place. If you unbolt the hub, the spokes will come out. The spokes are not structural to the wheel. This allows for a serious cleaning. It's some work, but like anything, you get what you invest. Gray Mist November 5th, 2006, 10:32 PM Here we go again.....The BB wheels are not baskets. The red center pops off like a hubcap to acess the lugnuts. The spokes are part of the wheel. Come on OLDSCHOOL.....help me out here! JoshMcMadMac November 6th, 2006, 08:58 AM Here we go again.....The BB wheels are not baskets. The red center pops off like a hubcap to acess the lugnuts. The red center is a hubcap. What most people call hubcaps today are really wheel covers. ND4SPDLSC November 8th, 2006, 10:07 PM If you take off your wheel and unbolt the central hub from the back, you will play 60 stick pick up. It WILL happen. I know this, because someone more masochistic than me has done it and told me about it. Thankfully, I'm an alloy wheel kind of guy. :D OldSchool1 November 9th, 2006, 06:01 PM I like wheels :) http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3085.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3085.jpg)http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3086.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3086.jpg)http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3087.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3087.jpg)http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3088.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3088.jpg) http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3089.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3089.jpg)http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3090.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3090.jpg)http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3030.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool3/oldschool3030.jpg) Wheel Schedule (everything you ever wanted to know about stock Lincoln Mark VII Wheels but were afraid to ask) (http://www.thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/tech/wheelSchedule.pdf) Black87LSC November 9th, 2006, 08:41 PM OldSchool, whats up with those "Geometric wheels"? Gray Mist November 13th, 2006, 04:33 PM A pic is worth a thousand words! however no one has answered my "original" question. torquemonkey November 13th, 2006, 06:30 PM .02 http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_detailing/article/0,2021,DIY_13684_2270904,00.html "Wire wheels are striking in appearance but difficult to care for. Use a toothbrush to apply polish in tight areas; a rag pulled behind each spoke (image) is handy for cleaning and polishing." or http://www.flitz.com/index.html or http://www.microfiber-products-online.com/mopomipoplpo.html OldSchool1 November 14th, 2006, 02:04 AM A pic is worth a thousand words! however no one has answered my "original" question. http://www.mothers.com/products/productcatalog/productpics/05924.jpg (http://www.mothers.com) I first used this on turbines and then moved over the the 90's cast and lastly, used them on a set of 60 spoke wire wheels. By following thier directions to the letter, I've had fabulous results. http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool1/oldschool1008.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool1/oldschool1008.jpg) Gray Mist November 14th, 2006, 11:01 AM Torquemonkey....Thanks for the links. Oldschool....Thanks for the info, this looks like it'll take right about the effort I want to put in to it. Spray it on and hose it off.....I like that. Spray it on and hose it off.....I like that. You're welcome. If the wheels are off the car, then use the dry rag method until you can't use it anymore. The spray needs to be used exactly as directed for optimal results. No. I don't have stock in the company but I do have some BAD ASS wheels :) http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool2/oldschool2030a.thumb.jpg (http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/albums/oldschool2/oldschool2030a.jpg) | ||||
