Hello all, I am curious about the gel cell batteries and or dry cell batteries. I went to buy a new battery and with no luck the place did not have a replacement battery. Asked if i could use the red top gel cell, which i use in the other car which is awesome, but he said that they have vents also and need to be mounted for ventilation and not the trunk. Has anyone installed one in there car or will even a dry cell work in there. Or am i stuck installing a factory one.. Thanks guys.

Battery does not vent during normal operation, but remote venting tube can be attached as a safety, making the Optima D31A battery ideal for enclosed spaces.

This is for an Optima Yellow top. I have used them for years and never had an issue.

About 7 years ago I bought Optima Yellow top 3 cars later and it still works like new.
