I don't plan to upgrade the size of my wheel, but I do want a meatier tire. What are some good sizes? And what do some of you have?

I have 245/50's but they slow down the speedo a few mph at 60+. The biggest tire that will fit with no problems and is closest to stock rev's is 245/55.

mespock got a set of 255/50/16s I believe. I run the 245/50/16 and he's right the speedo is off about 2-3 mph. No biggie though. You have to run the car lowered though because the smaller tires don't really look right at stock height.

Toyo Proxes T1R are one of the few that come in 245/55/R16, and this size is almost exactly the same diameter as stock. Anyone have any experience with them.

So which is better? 245/50/16 or 245/5516?

I'd go with the 55. It won't set your speedo off as much and will fill the wheel well better.

245/50 leaves your speedometer reading 3.7% too fast.

245/55 leaves your speedomter reading 0.1% too fast.

I don't know Rich, I am thinking of keeping it at the stock size.
