mespock October 23rd, 2004, 04:59 PM All goes to show that in America you don't need an education to make millions.
Some even get elected President or Governor.
So why did I spend so much on School.
barry2952 October 23rd, 2004, 05:05 PM What advanced degrees do you hold MonsterMark?
MonsterMark October 23rd, 2004, 05:06 PM President Bush: Bachelors Degree from Yale University, MBA from Harvard Business School. Flew Jets. The US government doesn't let morons fly around in $25 million dollar toys.
MonsterMark October 23rd, 2004, 05:18 PM What advanced degrees do you hold MonsterMark?Graduate from the School of Hard Knocks. Left engineering school to go into marketing. Immediately quit several years later to start my own company after finishing 2nd in a National Marketing Competition. (Lost to a guy selling bottled Rocky Mountain Air to the terminally ill, but beat out the guy selling window blinds that revealed naked women when lowered.) Turned down 58 job offers to scrap and claw and be my own man instead of working for someone else.
Currently own and/or manage 6 Companies. Starting a new Internet business with Joey so I can force Joey to become a rich guy so all you lefties can hate him for his success. I should probably spend a little more time working but I garner such gratification by simply antagonizing you, work just doesn't have the same appeal.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon10.gif
How 'bout you? Care to share?
barry2952 October 23rd, 2004, 05:24 PM I barely graduated from High School. Got into college on SAT scores. Flunked out of college and started my own business. I only have one business. Poor me.
What does own/manage mean?
Haven't you missed the irony of your thread?
mespock October 23rd, 2004, 05:28 PM Why did I ever graduate with a BA and the get my MS. You guys make more money than I do.
I'm tearing up my Diplomas and flunking out! I guess all those nights I spent parting I should have partied more! I mean Studying.
mespock October 23rd, 2004, 05:28 PM The US government doesn't let morons fly around in $25 million dollar toys.
Yes they do they let GW do it.
MonsterMark October 23rd, 2004, 05:36 PM What does own/manage mean?2 - I own outright, 2 - I have investors involved, 2 - I manage for other people and get paid a fee.
Haven't you missed the irony of your thread? Not really. I am not in the public eye with a camera in my face. I reach an audience of a couple dozen, not a couple million. Big difference as I see it. I would only hope that if I were in Hollywood, I would be as intelligent as Tom Cruise and just keep my mouth shut. Do you know which way he leans? Nobody does. That's smart. In my case, I doubt I would be able to stay silent so I would probably land on the list myself. So I guess you are right in that sense. Now you are ruining my buzz. That's no fun.
The real irony to be seen is all the Hollywood types that run around calling Bush stupid when he is, in all actuality, a very intelligent man. That's the point I was trying to make.
MonsterMark October 23rd, 2004, 05:41 PM Yes they do they let GW do it.I knew I could count on you Rich for that setup. Talk about being pitched a softball. Well, at least you hit it. http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon12.gif
barry2952 October 23rd, 2004, 05:43 PM Mespock,
Do not belittle your advanced education. You should be proud to attain advanced degrees. The shame comes when you don't use them.
mespock October 23rd, 2004, 06:49 PM Mespock,
Do not belittle your advanced education. You should be proud to attain advanced degrees. The shame comes when you don't use them.
I use it everyday. I never regret my education or my profession, I love my job.
Have to take a lot of heat as teaching is one of those positions that tax payers always like to complain about. Along with disgruntled parents who can only blame schools as the fault of their children lack of success, instead of looking at the time they spend with their children. If they only knew that the more they would work with their children's teacher the more success their children would have. You can't believe the turn around children have when their parents and teacher work together. Sometimes parents forget that we are working for the same cause, the success of their children.
I knew I was never going to become rich being a teacher, I only knew that I would enjoy being one.
Hey, and I drive 2 Lincolns you can't complain about that.
Oh and Bryan thanks for the flat pitch, I've put a lot of balls out of the park.
Asakha October 23rd, 2004, 08:00 PM Education is no mean of intelligence... I know way too many ingeniors who cannot do anything else then pushing their pencils. They only know what they have been told to know and can't barely think by themselves.
Is Buch really intelligent only because he went to university, not sure... Money can buy lot of things, especially diploma, and money, he has a lot !
Is Kerry more intelligent, who knows ? Not sure it's quite intelligent at first to go for presidency. Power seems to make people acts stupid.
I've completed my college (here in Quebec, there's college after highschool... kind of pre-university, anyway...), did one term in university, hate it and went to work instead. I don't own any business, but I have my house, my girlfriend and I are waiting our first child, we're happy, and we don't care about being intelligent or not ! (though we are !) :)
Randeaux October 23rd, 2004, 08:37 PM This is so sad. Does anyone proofread these posts? :frown:
Correction: Does anyone proofread THEIR OWN posts? :slam
Randeaux October 23rd, 2004, 08:53 PM BTW, I worked at the San Antonio Express-News for four years, which I had some editing experience. During those years, I did go to Incarnete Word College, majored in psychology, worked a 2nd full-time job at a Chinese restaurant and within the last month of my second year, dropped-out, quit the Chinese restaurant, lost not only an impending child due to miscarriage, but also my fiancee (who was so distraught she lost the child) and the home we were living in. 1992 was a WONDERFUL YEAR!
Randeaux October 23rd, 2004, 09:35 PM I know, I know :tmi:
Sorry :frown:
pepperman October 23rd, 2004, 10:00 PM For me 1992 totally sucked, the company i was working for layed me off.
barry2952 October 23rd, 2004, 11:16 PM Randeaux,
While I believe it is important that papers and proposals be correctly spelled and phrased I hardly think that it is appropriate to chastise someone in this forum because of their use of words or poor spelling.
I'm guessing that English might be their second language. Poor grammar doesn't make their point less valid. I think that that is the point that MonsterMark has been trying to make about our President. On this point we can agree.
Kbob October 24th, 2004, 02:46 AM Sorry that 1992 wasn't good for some of you guys. But I happened to have a good 1992. That's the year I went to basic and AIT for infantry (National Guard). Although I did NOT enjoy it and would never want to do it again, it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. That's also the year my 2nd girl was born. And I am thankful for all I have, despite my intelligence level ;).
mespock October 24th, 2004, 09:40 AM My Divorce was final in 1992, I was awarded the custody of my children and given the house and basically everything.
Only bad thing about 1992 is it started 13 long years of that ditch taking me to court for every stupid little thing. Kid gets a cold why didn't you tell me! I'm taking you to court. - Wish some Lawyers would have some ethics in matters like this and instead of looking at the money they could make, tell people like this get a life.
Sorry was thinking of 1992.
1993 was a much better year, met my wife to be and wow what a gift that has been. Sorry guys there is only one of her. I found her, she's mine. She may never be on the cover of Cosmo but she's not bad to the eyes either. Also, you'll never find a more caring heart. It's a democrate thing. Thought I had to make this political as this is a political thread.

This is a place for fun and R&R this isn't work, or school. Nobody is being graded, nobody's contract depends on how good your english looks. When it matters we all know where to go to get the proof reading we need.
But, if you have to pick on someones grammer or english - Just look at good old GW and he's our President.
MonsterMark October 24th, 2004, 10:21 AM I know, I know :tmi:
Sorry :frown: I'm still digesting the Mexican-American in the Chinese restaurant comment.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon12.gif
And I do agree with Barry. I have to spend alot of time re-editing my posts for spelling mistakes and I know for a fact that my punctuation leaves alot to be desired. I should have paid attention in English class but it was my least favorite subject. Anyway, we should all give lots of leadway when it comes to posting. It is tough to express yourself properly, especially every time you post.

MonsterMark October 24th, 2004, 10:26 AM She may never be on the cover of Cosmo but she's not bad to the eyes either. Hope your wife isn't into reading your comments on this site. The couch for you pal. Look what happened to Arnold. All he did was make some nice comments about Republicans at the Convention and he said he was cut off for 2 weeks. LOL. That one should earn you a month of detentions.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon7.gif

She'd know what I meant. One fantastic lady!!! And get cut off! Hey dude not her.
For a good many years we had the same lunch time. Came back from lunch many days with a great smile on my face. Then a new job and bummer no more nooners, but she made up for it with 7 days straight I was the one who was worn out.
Gotta love that woman.
MonsterMark October 24th, 2004, 10:44 AM Braggert!
Randeaux October 24th, 2004, 09:23 PM Randeaux,

I agree.
Read through the entire string of posts not only one or two, and we are talking about our levels of education, aren't we. I'm just saying we
(Including Myself) should be more careful.
I do apologize though, if I had offended anyone. About the Chinese restaurant, I was desperate and really needed the money, between school loans and trying to make out there, trying to start a family.
Randeaux October 24th, 2004, 09:36 PM And as mentioned in an earlier post, I have a strange way of expressing myself at times,( read "hello, it's me... in the welcome wagon section.) However, I will be less criticizing in the future.
(I will admit that about Dubyah, I love the way he butchers Nuclear though!)

It takes my a solid Aeon to get my posts out, due to the same reasons.
I admit, I was wrong.

Maybe I need to shut up for awhile, I think I'm digging myself into a hole.
I hope y'all understood what I was pointing out, and the IRONY involved. I'm not out to hurt, discourage, or criticize anyone.
barry2952 October 24th, 2004, 09:55 PM I think we should lobby Joey for a spellchecker. I'd use it.
MonsterMark October 24th, 2004, 09:57 PM No problem Randeaux.
We want to make sure that everybody is comfortable and everybody can voice their own opinions. Give and take is what we are looking for. It may get heated at times but I think we self-police ourselves pretty well.
I want everybody that has something to say to feel free to say it. Nobody (not even me) has all the answers.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com//images/icons/icon12.gif
Spellchecker? Me too. I am tired of editing my posts.
Randeaux October 24th, 2004, 10:23 PM That' s absolutely right,I totally agree with what you said. I would like a spellchecker too, I admit, I hate taking up to 15 minutes a setence to correct my mistakes through editing.
I know typo's happen too. However, this is not work or school. We should be more relaxed. We should be able to say whatever, however we want.
(I think outside issues are making me anal lately, to be honest.)
(these 5 sentences took me 12 minutes to create, after editing.) :slam <D'oh!
Randeaux October 24th, 2004, 11:29 PM :N HA-HA! I SPELLED SENTENCE WRONG! :N
Maybe we might need that speelchecker after all.
^ SPELLCHECKER(sp)
:slam No, REALLY I NEED TO STOP! :slam
